The second day of the WTA 250 in Cleveland featured some exciting action. The draw is in full swing even as the tournament trails behind two consecutive Masters 1000 tournaments. We also predict another Day 2 tournament. in Cleveland, split between two other articles: Caroline Garcia vs Linda Fruhvirtova and Nadia Podoroska vs Veronika Kudermetova.

WTA Cleveland Day 2 Predictions

Barbara Krajzikova vs Clara Thousand

Head to Head Krajczik 1-0 Towson

Krejcikova enters the Cleveland Draw after her first tournament since Wimbledon in Cincinnati ended with a first-round exit to Victoria Azarenka, a mixed season for the 2021 French Open champion with her title in Dubai. But there are still many surprising losses. Taesan is only 20 years old, however. She’s trying to rediscover the winning form she had in 2021. Her game might trouble Krejcikova in a spell, but the second seed in Cleveland should have the upper hand.
Prediction: Krajzikova and 2

Xiyu Wang vs Julia Grabher

Face to face: first meeting

On paper, this is a great opportunity for both players to advance to the next round. Both women had very difficult results this season, however, Grabher’s last race was the ITF title, although the level was not the same as the WTA 250 event, but it should give her some confidence. Wang has struggled a lot this year. She was in the top 50 at the beginning of January. But her rank dropped drastically. This is not an easy thing to call Grabher, perhaps feeling a little more confident and fresh after not playing in Cincinnati last week. and took victory in the ITF Circuit.
Prediction: Grabher in 3

Katerina Siniakova with Sara Sorribes Tormo

Head to Head Zorribes Tormo 2-1 Siniakova

Siniakova’s form has dropped lately. She has lost all three hard court matches since Wimbledon. And her performance wasn’t anywhere near as good as she was. Sorribes Tormo won the last time these two faced off on hard court. Although that happened two years ago in Montreal. The Spaniards are great contenders on all surfaces. but in general She is most comfortable when there are margins on the clay. As evidenced by her run to the fourth round at this year’s French Open, even if Siniakova hasn’t been at her best lately, her slight slump has a good chance of ending up in Cleveland.
Prediction: Siniakova in 3

Sloane Stephens vs Lauren Davis

Head to Head Davis 4-2 Stephens

Davis is a horrible player for Stephens. She has beaten her compatriots twice this year, including a few weeks ago in Washington. Davis has a very aggressive backhand attack ability. That poses a problem for Stephens since her backhand is her weaker wing. And she was always pinned down by Davis. The former US Open champion has been playing better tennis than average lately, with two rounds out of 16 in Montreal and Cincinnati. Including the win against Caroline Garcia, it is far from guaranteed. But Stephens with little momentum. She had enough time to beat Davis in Cleveland.
Prediction: Stephens in 3
