Arguably the deepest Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) division sees the belt take on this Saturday (Aug. 19, 2023) when bantamweight leader Aljamain Sterling squares off against knockout machine Sean O’. Malley inside the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, meanwhile, south 20lb Brazilian finisher Amanda Lemos attempts to topple Strawweight Empress Zhang Weili in a Pay-per-View (PPV) bout of UFC 292. As Marlon Vera takes on Pedro Munoz in a clash of two of the toughest and most durable fighters out there. Fighter in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
There will be four UFC 292 “Prelims” undercard matches on the ESPN2/ESPN+ segment once Brad Katona’s opponent wraps up (checkout the first set here), but at the time of writing, only three are official. Let’s check them out…
185 pounds: Chris Weidman vs. Brad Tavares (19-9)
Chris Weidman (15-6), a seemingly invincible former champion, has been 2-6 since beating Vitor Belfort in his third title defense, his latest attempt – a decade-long match against Uriah Hall. In the making — broke Weidman’s leg in just 17 seconds in the first round (watch highlights… if you dare).
This was his first mixed martial arts (MMA) bout in nearly 28 months for “The All-American.”
Tavares trailed his 3-1. Ultimate Fighter (TUF)11 Running by starting 7-1 UFC then rebounding from a 1-3 slip to win four straight. He goes into custody on Saturday having lost four of his last six games, including a knock out defeat to Bruno. Silva in April 2023
He gave Wildman an inch of his height and four inches of reach.
On the bright side, I don’t see Weidman being hurt that badly in this match. which has become an increasingly common occurrence That said, I don’t see him winning either. Tavares is good at punching opponents with thrusts and leg kicks. while turning off the subversion, and while the intact Weidman will be able to defeat him and continue to fight. I don’t trust this surgically repaired version.
At this point in Weidman’s Tavares career, a headache awaits. Weidman’s hit wasn’t hard enough to break Tavares’ shaky chin, and by now he was probably too slow to deal with Tavares’ meat-and-potato offense. In the end, Tavares had another chance to win the decision.
Prediction: Tavares via unanimous decision.
£185: Gregory Rodrigues vs. Denis Tiuliulin
Even if Jordan fell williams go Competitor SeriesGregory Rodrigues (13-5) picked up four wins and three post-fight bonuses in his first five UFC bouts, then replaced Bruno Ferrera, who punched “Robocop” the hard way. Shock with one punch in January 2023 (watch highlights)
He stands two inches taller than Denis Tuulioulin (ranks 11-7), but is at a two-inch disadvantage in reaching.
Tiuliulin’s 2022 UFC debut saw him step up just in time to face Aliiskhab Khizriev, forcing him to touch down midway through the second round. Although he rebounded by knocking out Jamie Pickett, his fight failed him again when Jun Yong Park finished him off with a rear choke.
All but one of his victories came by knockout.
Like any bout Ferreira Rodrigues has an incredibly simple and clear way to win this bout, Tiuliulin doesn’t have a wrestling worthy of the Octagon. In fact, if “Robocop” is determined to get it on the mat, it will work. The problem is that Rodrigues likes to shoot it. And although it worked for him more often than not, Tiuliulin had enough pop to turn his lights off.
despite the risks But it’s hard to pick against Rodrigues here. He instantly threw Tiuliulin to the ground and should have won the stand more often with his terrifying power. As long as he’s not too sloppy, he should be able to subdue Tiuliulin wherever the fight goes.
Prediction: Rodrigues via first-round technical knockout
£155: Austin Hubbard vs. Kurt Holobaugh
The decision to lose to Vinc Pichel left Austin Hubbard (15-6) Octagon running to 3-4, allowing him to rebuild with two wins on the regional circuit. His efforts earned him the title. TUF31In which he secured his ticket to the final by deciding Aaron Mackenzie and Roosevelt Roberts.
He faces a one-inch height disadvantage and a two-inch reach disadvantage.
Despite his consistent success in promotion like Titan FC, Kurt Holoboh (19-7) struggled to secure a victory in the Octagon, going winless (0-4) in two. separate range That didn’t stop him from stealing the show. 31, Dispatch Lee Hammond and defeat Jason Knight in a consensus “Fight of the Season”.
His career ended with a 9:7 split between submissions and knockouts.
Hubbard’s Kryptonite is a superior wrestler. He is tough, persistent, and a strong offensive fighter. But he was beaten several times. Fortunately for him he didn’t have to worry about that. Holobaugh’s best is at 145 pounds, and he’s always up against some of the best takedowners.
Although Holobaugh is always dangerous and elusive, But I didn’t see him surge past Hubbard, especially not when Hubbard was able to break his momentum with a fight. Hubbard doesn’t dress up in a shop or dress like Jason Knight; So he will use Holobaugh’s best abilities and powers to crush his way. TUF victory.
End result: Hubbard passed unanimous decision.
Even though the UFC 292 lineup has a stretched axe But still worth watching. see you on saturday idiot
