predict! UFC 292 Early ‘Prelims’ Preview – Pt. 1
The most colorful bantamweight Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fight will take place this Saturday (Aug. 19, 2023) when Sean O’Malley challenges Aljamain Sterling for the 135-pound TD Garden belt. Boston, Massachusetts will see Zhang Wily, the strawweight queen. Look out for another highlight fight for her against top contender Amanda Lemos, and Neil Magni steps up to challenge Ian Machado Garry in no time.
UFC 292 features seven “Prelims” undercard bouts at the time of this writing. But it won’t be confirmed until the final episode. Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 31 In conclusion, tomorrow evening, so you will have to pay the spill.
Here are the first three shows airing on ESPN+:
£185: Andre Petroski vs. Gerald Meerschaert
Andrei Petrski (9-1) — Early game favorite Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 26 — saw his run halted in the semifinals, with Bryan Battle’s ninja suffocating. He was more successful in the octagon himself, scoring four notable victories, including a 76-second finish by Nick Maximov.
He’s an inch shorter and will have to overcome his 4.5-inch reach disadvantage.
Gerald Meerchart (35-16) recovered from defeat in 5 of his previous 7 bouts, returning to the fray with four stoppage wins in his next 5 bouts. clash with Competitor Series Great Joe Pyfer, who put “GM3” midway through the first place.
His 33 professional entries include 27 through submissions.
On paper, this is all Petroski. We just watched Meerschaert get destroyed by heavyweight wrestlers. Combined with his track record of starting late. making it difficult to see him pass the first round. Even if he could regain his former outstanding form by any means. which is a nightmare of defeat. The eight combined takedowns he surrendered to Dustin Stoltzfus and Krzysztof Jotko provided Petroski with a clear Plan B.
I understand you can’t count on Meerschaert, but watch me. Petroski, of course, blasted him with powerful punches in three minutes.
Prediction: Petrowski advances to the first knockout round.
125 pounds: Andrea Lee vs. Natalia Silva
Andrea Lee (13-7) extended her winning streak to seven with three consecutive UFC wins out of the gate. She has lost five of her seven, three of which have come by split decisions. While Antonina Shevchenko and Cynthia Calvillo dominated along the way.
“KGB” will be 2 inches tall and 4.5 inches in reach for Natalia Silva (15-5-1).
Silva split her six-bout winning streak and the junglefight flyweight title on her UFC contract in just 2.5 years on the sidelines. She made up for lost time by winning all three octagon bouts and earning bonuses. After knocking home from Tereza Bleda
She finished 12 long distance bouts, five of them via submission.
Although you must be careful not to be blinded by advertising. Although Lee is the strongest striker Silva has ever faced in the Octagon, Silva’s speed and power make her undoubtedly more terrifying than the two of them. Keep beating her UFC opponents. And the way Silva stopped Tereza Bleda’s fight shows that this isn’t going to change here.
I’d like to see Silva fight a well-rounded top fighter before joining her thrilling formation. But I believe she will outperform Lee’s brilliant opponent in the end.
Prediction: Silva passes unanimous decision.
£125: Karyn Silva vs. Marina Moroz (11-4)
Karine Silva (16-4) uses her “Killer” nickname. Competitor Series With a guillotine finish coming from behind Yan Qihui, she had a similar performance in the Octagon, sending Poliana Botelho and Ketlen Souza less than one lap each.
Her 16 victories were split evenly between knockouts and submissions. All this came in less than two rounds.
Maryna Moroz (11-2) turned a winless run (0-2) behind her to take three straight. One of them over Mayra Bueno Silva, the current bantamweight contender. She then fights fellow veteran Jennifer Maia. losing by unanimous decision in November 2022.
She was a woman who was two inches taller.
Although she proved incapable of overcoming a hump at 115 or 125 pounds, Moroz has an impressive track record. She has the skills to do it here because Silva is unproven in the first round and appears to be an inferior kickboxer. It should have given Silva plenty of opportunities to bond and reinforce through “The Iron Lady’s” past dubious overthrow defenses.
I would bite the bullet and choose Moroz – she never finished and snowballed into it. Moreover She also has the ability to delete content on her own duty. And Silva had a lot of trouble fighting Yan. Regardless, Silva touched her in the first few minutes. Or Moroz will narrow her decision. I’ll go with the latter
Prediction: Moroz through split decision
