Pre-season can be a bad game when it comes time to play. But one thing we seem to be able to do is that Jordan Love has seen more runs than most starting quarterbacks this preseason.

Green Bay’s new starting QB needs all the reps he can get. After all, he only played 157 regular-season appearances over the first three seasons of his NFL career, so it’s no surprise Love told reporters he expects to play at least two series with the Packers’ first-team offensive game against Cincinnati.

Meanwhile, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor announced that “a lot of starters won’t play” against Green Bay.

It’s really quite simple. In a sense, football teams have their best players against a ton of substitutes and rookies. The Packers’ highly motivated love and starter offensive rest had the advantage over anyone on the field for the Bengals in the first half, so I backed Green Bay before halftime.

choose: Packers 1H -2.5

Chris Raybon wins 2-0 with his pre-season bet. And yesterday he let the world know some of the key trends that have proven to be successful for bettors when it comes to NFL football in August.

Out of the five trends, I prefer the one to wager on: “Pre-season totals 36.5 or less with the home team losing 46-24-1 (66%) since 2008.”

lucky for us We have a Friday night matchup that fits this trend: Falcons at Dolphins on Thursday night. Miami is a 2.5 point underdog and overall in our preferred position at 36.5.

The good news is that the five defenders we expect to see in this game are all not… too bad.

Desmond Ridder will start for the Falcons, and Taylor Heinicke will be relieved to play a bit in the second half. Then expect Logan. Woodside will take control of the rest of the game. Our Sean Koerner scores Woodside at -1.5 points against the spread. Sounds bad, but it’s pretty good for a quarterback playing in the second half of the season.

The expectation for Miami is that backup QB Mike White will play the first half while Skylar Thomspon will play the second half. White was named for the Jets ahead of Zack. Wilson last year While Thompson looked more capable than expected when he was brought down in the starting line-up towards the end of last season.

Out of the three preseason games we’ve seen so far, Only one game beats them all: the Hall of Fame game.

These aren’t the only games that fit this trend on Friday night. Packers vs. Bengals (+4.5) and Giants vs. Lions (+3) also fit.

Sean Koerner has done the dirty work of charting when to expect quarterbacks to play in preseason. And the biggest advantage came in the first half of Giants vs. Lions.

While the Giants were about to launch Daniel. Jones and Tyrod Veteran Taylor The lion expects Nate. Veteran backup Sadfeld came on in the second half. Tommy DeVito is expected to feature in the second half for the Giants. and may even continue playing in the first half

Detroit QB Adrian Martinez will get some runs in the second half. Build momentum between him and Devito. Both are ranked -3 relative to spread. According to Koerner’s rating

New York are 3-point favorites in this game, but their advantage is at half-time. Although the Giants were only 1.5-point favorites in the first half, I’m going to take advantage of this difference and bet on the G-Men in the first half.

choose: Giants 1H -1.5
