Patrick Cantley of a play-off loss to Lucas Glover will look to be a three-time winner of the BMW Championship after winning both in 2021 and 2022. However, the tournament is back on track. Olympia where he finished T12 in 2020.

The FedExCup playoffs resumed after a thrilling finish at TPC Southwind that saw Lucas Glover outlast Patrick Cantlay in the semi-finals. Fifty golfers then qualified for the second round.

BMW Championship Picks and Predictions

Eric Cole finishes top 10

My personal Rookie of the Year pick on this year’s TOUR. The 35-year-old put together a memorable season.

Although he didn’t win the race like his buddy Vincent Norrman did, Cole found himself consistently at the top of the leaderboard since the turn of the calendar year. In fact, he had made 12 cuts out of the past 14. by finishing in the top 15 four times during that period. and his grueling T15 finish at the PGA Championship.

I mention that performance in particular because it conveys his ability to stand out amongst a field full of exceptionally difficult fields. Oak Hill played similar to what we will see this week at Olympia Fields, bringing it to life. Tough for everyone with thick, hard greens.

Cole was the last rookie standing in this playoffs, and a top-10 finish should honor his Rookie of the Year award — an outcome I believe is more plausible than the current 6/1 odds scheme.

My best solution: Eric Cole Records Top 10 Finishes (+600 at DraftKings)

Adam Svensson recorded a top 10 finish.

This week’s other target golfer is Adam Svensson. It’s been a successful year for Canadian golfers on the TOUR with four wins, and the highlight is Nick Taylor’s incredible win in front of a home audience at the RBC Canadian Open.

Svensson was also responsible for a quarter of those victories. when he took the trophy after his winning performance at The RSM Classic, while the rest of Svensson’s season did not perform well. He enters the week in fine form with five straight Top 40 finishes, including his T7 performance at the Wyndham Championship.

Is it possible for Svensson to make the top 10 again this week?

Although still clearly visible. But I think it’s more likely than the 13/2 odds would suggest. The only inconsistency in Svensson’s games over the past few months has been his putts. That will play a big part in his success this week.

The good news is that the rest of his games are doing well. Having stroked off the tee and tee green in each of the past four tournaments, Svensson’s putter was the main reason he won at The RSM Classic earlier in the season. by making up to 3.01 strokes on the green

With his putter on, Svensson has a well-rounded game that makes him a solid bet to stay at the bottom of the leaderboard. If the putter continues this week, finishing in the top 10 won’t be an issue anymore. Due to recent achievements in other areas of his game.

My best solution: Adam Svensson Records Top 10 Finishes (+650 at DraftKings)

BMW Championship and favorite teams

The top 50 golfers in the FedExCup standings have advanced to the second round of the PGA Tour Playoffs.

Patrick Cantlay nearly won the FedEx St. Jude Championship after shooting a 64 on Sunday to squeeze a playoff against Lucas Glover. He will now get a chance to defend his crown as a two-time winner in this event. He’s won each of the last two years and is about 10/1 debuting to get three in a row. One current issue is that the BMW Championship has not been held at Olympia Fields in the past two years where Cantlay has been successful. and the last time used to be Held on the North Course (in 2020), Cantlay finished off a distant T12.

That year’s winner was none other than Jon Rahm, who beat Dustin. Johnson in the Rahm semifinal is available between +750 and +900 for various books. And coming off a disappointing T37 at TPC Southwind as mentioned. Most of his fights were limited to Thursday’s first round. When he hit 73, he shot under 69 in each final round of the tournament.

Perhaps it’s no surprise that Rory McIlroy and Scotty Scheffler are the favorites to win this weekend. McIlroy had a strong showing in Memphis, finishing T3 alongside Tommy Fleetwood (+2,200 this weekend) and one stroke behind Glover and Cantlay.

Scheffler, like Rahm, performed below expectations. But his scramble came over the weekend when he shot 71 and 70 on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Glover’s victory didn’t propell him into one of the favourites. He now sits fourth in the FedExCup standings behind Rahm, Scheffler and McIlroy.
